Staying Healthy in the Quarantine Era

No matter where you are, your life has certainly been impacted by the coronavirus. From lost jobs, to remote working, online learning, and having to remain at home–there are so many added stresses to new routines that we are still trying to adjust to. But let’s keep our spirits up. Believe it or not there are many ways to stay sane, occupied and healthy during our times at home.
Go for walks!
Getting out of the house is what we all need, and as long as you’re keeping your distance from other walkers it’s completely safe! The Vitamin D from the sunshine is essential, and according to Healthline prevents osteoporosis, depression, and increases longevity. In addition, it’s recommended to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in a day, so walks are the perfect way to get the benefits from the sunshine and from your body. Don’t forget your pup! As happy as your furry friend is to have you home, they’d be even happier to get out of the house and keep you company, and the health perks are there for them too.
Self-Care and Hydration.
Now of all times is when we can take some time to focus on ourselves. So, set aside some time each day to make sure you’re taking care of yourself in ways that will not only benefit you on the outside but the inside as well. One word to keep in mind: hydration. Remember to drink plenty of water, use a moisturizer after your facial cleanser, hair masks in the shower, and add in a beauty routine for your lips too. TROPICBD’s Lip Balm is a perfect tool to keep your lips hydrated and smooth. Looking our best helps us feel better, and all your bases will be covered.
Keep your mind occupied with positivity. The last thing we need is to be distracted by the worries of the world, so let’s find some more positive distractions. If you’re working from home, set aside time to do something non-work related at the end of the day. Either reading a book, painting, drawing, yoga, meditation, or whatever suits you. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it’s vital to recognize what our minds need and make sure we’re taking care of it.
Play fetch.
Another way to get some sun and get out of the house is by playing fetch with your dog! It’ll get you and your dog moving. Whether it be in your backyard, a field near your home, or your favorite play-spot TROPICBD™ Super Bite Chew Toy, is a perfect for a rough-and-tumble game of catch, fetch or tug-of-war. Its geometric ridges are great for getting rid of plaque and will keep your dog occupied for a little longer too. A healthier mouth and a healthier pup.
No matter what you decide to incorporate into your day, I hope we can all use this time to focus on a better and healthier us – both mind and body. Stay healthy and happy
