Dogs Get Seasonal Allergies Too—Here’s How to Help Them
Spring has sprung, and though we’re all ready for the sunshine and flowers, seasonal allergies are lurking around the corner making many of us stop in our tracks and avoid smelling the roses. But did you know that dogs face these same allergies?
Dogs react to allergies in a different way from humans. Allergens, either in the air or from walks through nature, can cause irritation & patchy dry skin which often leads to agitation of their hair follicles. Dogs generally bite and scratch at these spots causing further irritation.
Fortunately, there are options that can help your furry friend alleviate the seasonal discomfort of their allergies—
introducing our TROPICBD™ Soothing Balm.
Our balm is made up of a variety of different oils that help soothe and relax the irritation in your pet’s coat. Let’s break them each down, shall we?
· Coconut oil: According to the American Kennel Association, when used topically, this is known to support healthy skin and help calm hot spots, bites, or itchy dryness. The combination of the fatty acids and Medium Chain Triglycerides all are what make this so relieving. It can help your dog’s coat look glossy too – and don’t forget, it has a healthy, natural smell!
· Olive oil: This form of oil acts quickly because of its consistency and thickness and because it is infused with Vitamin E and similar fatty acids. The thickness penetrates the coat and thus is able to get to the skin much faster. Plus, it’s not as messy when it’s combined in the balm!
· Rosemary Oil: Rosemary acts not only as a bug repellent to help minimize those pesky critters from biting into your pet’s skin, but has the added benefit of supporting a natural immune response to inflammation. This can mean less redness, swelling and a more happy, healthy pet!
· Full Spectrum Hemp Oil: TROPICBD’s full spectrum Hemp oil is loaded with naturally occurring CBD which helps support not only a calm and relaxed pet, but also aids in healthy skin and supporting the body’s natural response to inflammation. Since most skin irritation occurs below the surface with swollen hair follicles, the ability for the body to minimize that swelling is crucial in controlling allergic responses.
Overall, the combination of all of these oils into our Soothing Balm helps knock those allergens right out of the park. Take your dog for a walk, play fetch in that field, and enjoy your spring time. They will too.
